Sir Ratan Tata Fellowships Now in its twelfth year, this Fellowship is for established scholars (normally under 40 years of age) in the social sciences with experience of research on South Asia. C.R. Parekh Fellowships This Fellowship is for established scholars in the social sciences with experience of research in India. Korea Foundation- LSE Academic Exchange Programme Fellows One of the main purposes of the Korea Foundation- LSE Academic Exchange programme is to establish and operate a programme of academic exchange between LSE and Korea institutions. Funded initially through the generosity of the Korea Foundation for three years, this programme will allow the two way exchange of academics between LSE and leading Korean Universities.
Taiwan Visiting Fellows (TRP)(un-remunerated) There is now an opportunity for scholars or professionals who work on Taiwan from across the world to apply to become a self-funded Fellow at the LSE Asia Research Centre. The position is hosted by the Taiwan Culture Research Programme at the Centre. The TRP holds seminars, publishes an e-Journal, and undertakes research on the culture of Taiwan as understood in its widest sense. The programme is particularly interested in research projects which are either comparative or interdisciplinary in perspective.
ARC Visiting Fellows (un-remunerated) This scheme is available for individuals outside the School wishing to undertake research on a full-time basis on a project which spans more than one social science. The goal is to develop early stage career researchers (pre-major review) working in an interdisciplinary fashion in the social sciences. The duration of an ARC visiting fellowship can be from one month to one year and can be renewed up to three years in total. The position of ARC Visiting Fellowship is normally open to those who have obtained a PhD degree. Resident Visitors are required to pay bench fees of £3600 per academic year (pro-rated for shorter periods). Adjustments to this are allowed only on a needs basis. Fellowship applications received by the ARC are recommended once per term on a competitive basis. These are without remuneration however the ARC is able to provide limited desk space. Applicants should be nominated by their home department together with an LSE academic who will act as research mentor.
Initial inquiries should be sent to the ARC Centre Manager, and should include a curriculum vitae, an outline of proposed research (no more than three pages initially), and should identify a specific LSE academic with whom the work would be undertaken. Please specify your preferred period of affiliation in your application as resident appointments are subject to availability.

British Academy- ESRC: Chinese Visiting Fellowships The British Academy, in partnership with the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), invites applications for its Chinese visiting fellowships. This scheme enables early-career scholars from China to apply directly to the Academy and the ESRC, in conjunction with their UK hosts, for research visits to the UK of at least two months.
